I go by Florentino. I am a proud native of Dallas, Texas, specifically Oakcliff. I graduated from Sunset in 2007. In my youth, I ventured into graffiti art, finding solace and expression in the streets. However, my rebellious path led to an inevitable confrontation with the law at 16. Instead of facing incarceration, I was confronted with a pivotal moment of guidance, urging me to channel my talents onto a more constructive path.
The seeds of change were planted, and it wasn't until I reached 23 that I truly embraced my artistic calling. Starting my Instagram page in my early twenties, I initially viewed it as a casual platform for sharing my creations. Yet, the encouragement from friends and the unexpected interest from strangers made me realize the potential for my art to reach beyond the streets.
With each sale and commission, my confidence grew, and I realized the potential for my passion to sustain me financially. What once seemed like a mere pastime flourished into a thriving career, a testament to the power of dedication and belief in oneself.
Inspired by the timeless legacy of artists like Van Gogh, I aspire to leave a mark on the world that transcends generations to be remembered as an artist and a storyteller of my time.
“To live forever through my work.”
- Florentino
